For less than $50 in parts, I built a controller that let me use my crock pot for sous vide cooking.

Modulecounts.com: Tracks the number of modules uploaded to Rubygems.org, CPAN, PyPi and other language repositories.
backup-task gem: A ruby gem to add a db:backup rake task to your Rails app, using the backup gem.
Data Logger: Custom arduino clone hardware + arduino software + Rails app for centralized data logging. I use it to track a bunch of temperature sensors.
Getto Sous Vide: Arduino sketch to turn a crock pot into a souse vide cooker.
Waiter: Self tracking app I use to track my weight, blood pressure and personal events.
Meg's TV: My step-daughter has to earn time to watch TV and play video games. This app keeps track of her balance. Supports multiple parents and multiple children.
